Eid Al-Fitr and Eid Al-Adha Prayer Times in Bahrain: Full Guide

Eid Al-Fitr and Eid Al-Adha bring special congregational prayers in the early morning hours. Here is everything you need to know about Eid Salah timings, locations, and traditions across Bahrain.

What Is Salat Al-Eid and When Is It Performed?

Eid Al-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan and Eid Al-Adha commemorates Ibrahim (AS). Both Eids are celebrated with Salat Al-Eid — a special prayer performed after sunrise but before Dhuhr. Unlike the five daily prayers, it is a large congregational event held in open spaces, Eid Musallahs, and major mosques.

In Bahrain, Eid prayers are typically scheduled between 06:00 AM and 08:30 AM, depending on the sunrise time on that specific date. Since sunrise shifts throughout the year, the Eid prayer time also varies annually.

Where Are Eid Prayers Held in Bahrain?

Major Eid prayer venues in Bahrain include the Al-Fateh Grand Mosque in Manama, the Grand Mosque in Muharraq, and large mosques across Riffa, Hamad Town, and Isa Town. Outdoor Eid Musallahs — open prayer grounds — are also used in residential areas to accommodate the large number of worshippers.

It is highly recommended to arrive 30–45 minutes before the announced Eid prayer time, as mosque car parks and surrounding roads fill quickly. Following the prayer, the Imam delivers a Khutbah (sermon) that typically lasts 20–30 minutes.

How to Prepare for Eid Prayer in Bahrain

The Eid prayer consists of two rakats with additional takbeers. Preparation for Eid Salah is a family affair: men, women, and children dress in their finest clothes, perform Ghusl (ritual bath), and apply perfume. Children receive Eidiyya (gifts of money) from elders after prayers.

After prayers, families visit each other's homes, sharing traditional Bahraini dishes like Harees, Machboos, and sweets. The combination of prayer, family, and food makes Eid one of the most joyful occasions in the Bahraini calendar.

How Eid Prayer Times Are Announced in Bahrain

Since Eid day is determined by moon sighting announcements from Bahrain's Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, the official Eid prayer time is announced on the eve of Eid. It is critical to follow official announcements rather than pre-planned schedules.

Checking city-specific prayer times in advance helps plan Suhoor, Ghusl, and departure time. Our platform automatically recalculates prayer times daily for all 23 Bahraini cities, so you can check the expected Fajr and sunrise windows to estimate Eid prayer timing.
